Hi, Uwe - sorry for the long break since my last submission;

No problem.
Many thanks for your comments. There were several features that were not described and an undocumented feature is an unusable feature.

General points: (1) I noticed a few places in this document where a single - is
being used when an en or an em dash, i.e. -- or --- would be more appropriate.

Can you please tell me where this is the case?

(2) Menu is normally used to mean a list of choices; where there is only one
choice, option is better.

I agree that they are no menus. In my opinion they are menu entries rather than
options. I changed
this now accordingly.
Besides this, we always call it consistently "menu" when we write for example "Tools->Preferences->Editing". I've seen this also in other software manuals.

After A.1.12

A.1.n Fax

[needs an explanation]

I don't have this menu entry. I'll ask on the lyx-devel list what this is for.

C.1.1.1 User Interface File

Item ”menu or button name” ”LyX-function”
> [in English the opening double quotes should be \textquotedblleft

I corrected this now consistently. It seems that the wrong quotes were
copy/paste mistakes.

After C.2.1.1
[explanation needed of 'Edit Maths Macros inline with a box around' etc]

I missed this new feature and explained it now also in the Math manual.

Many thanks for your proof reading. It improved not only the LyX user's guide
but also my English ;-) .

best regards
Uwe
