Note that the English version suffers from the bug described in the last
slide: a4paper appears a class option, so that the complilation fails
with earlier versions of seminar.
We once agreed to support the fixed version of the seminar class. In case a user is using the buggy
older version, we added the workaround description. In general the users are encouraged to upgrade.
I suppressed it in the translated file.
I reverted this for the above reason.
In addition I find the explanation unclear, I would suggest:
...in the menu Document->Settings->Page Layout set the Paper Size to
“a4” (unless it is the default layout of your LaTeX distribution) and
remove "a4paper"...

The first note says nothing about PDF (ps2pdf). Here I find it better
than dvipdfm: the third slide does not appear rotated.
That was the bug in the old seminar version. Here it works when you are using the a4paper option and
the recent seminar version.
Finally, I think that the layout could be modified to get the
slideheadings next to the slide control styles.
Can you provide a patch to the lyx-devel mailing list so that Günter Milde, the author of the
seminar layout, can comment on this?
