It seems to work now for me too. Took a look but the post http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.editors.lyx.general/70031 says that the "Formatted Reference" is a better way. I might go with your suggestion though since I'm running out of time. In fact, I had forgotten myself and had to search through it and found additionally that the first occurrence of "see Section" is with a capital 'S' but all later occurrences are with a small 's'. I also found some normal spaces between section and the reference number in some places instead of protected spaces. What I was referring to in the previous mail is in Subsubsection 3.4.2 in the Tutorial. The LyX Code reads "section" while the following text reads "Section" within quotes. This now looks trivial but when I was following the Tutorial, I was slightly confused. When I looked up the Tutorial on the web (link below in forwarded message), I was surprised to see just the reverse. The issue with "see section" and protected spaces that I said above are not a big problem though. > > in the pdf version at >> http://wiki.lyx.org/uploads/**LyX/Manuals/1.4.2/Tutorial.pdf<http://wiki.lyx.org/uploads/LyX/Manuals/1.4.2/Tutorial.pdf>which >> seems to be >> very old but perhaps newer than the inbuilt one as I haven't found out the >> inbuilt tutorial's date or version. >> > > The built-in documentation files are always the most recent ones. I was just following the documentation from the LyX source itself as it is easier to open it right from the Help menu and have it as a tab within LyX. Thanks again -- trss
