Hello
You are correct that this list is in English, although you should
address such questions to lyx-users.

Anyhow, as already suggested try PDF Properties in Doc Settings. The
boxes shouldn't be visible when printing the PDF. But if you find them
annoying, try the 'No frames around links' option'.
