this is an English list.
Return creates a new paragraph. If you need a forced line break you can
use Ctrl + Return or Ctrl + Shift + Return.
The LyX tutorial mentions this in sec. 2.2.2, 2.2.3. The User#s guide
clearly states this in sec. 3.3.1.
If you get an indented line or a vertical space so separate paragraphs
can be set in the document settings under "Text layout".
