What table do you want import? ASCII-Data or a old latex-table?
If you want import ASCII-Data then you should have a normal tab-separated
values file and create a empty table of the dimensions you would like to
import, then position the cursor in the first cell and import the text from
the menu (Insert->Import ASCII File->As Lines)
