Putting the caption to the top of the table works --- but:
- Never put a longtable in a float because the number-counter
is increased twice.
- Never put a longtable in a float because a float would be
arranged on a single page only.
- To add the captions to a longtable, you must put them in the
last column of the row, and code them with the following latex
code:
\kill \caption[caption for lof]{Your caption}
- Be carefull: the label for referencing the table should appear only
in the cells with property "first head" or "last food"
