lyx-1.0.0: unable to find textclass file `~/'

Hi,

I just have downloaded, compiled and installed
lyx-1.0.0 on a SuSE6.0 system. I encountered one
minor problem. I can run lyx in the source 
directory but not in the installation directory.

Here is the error message I get on my terminal:

gen100> /usr/X11R6/bin/lyx
LyXTextClassList::Read: unable to find textclass file  `~/<unknown_path>'. Exit.
LyXSetStyle: an error occured during parsing.
             Exiting.

What's the problem?
