Are you sure that you copied the messages accurately? They do not make
sense to me...

Several things you might try:
- if you are running redhat 5.2, just get a precompiled rpm from
ftp://wierdlmpc.msci.memphis.edu/pub
- try to compile without optimization/debug info:
make CXXFLAGS=
or you can keep just a bit of optimization
make CXXFLAGS=-O
- you can also compile just the files which give errors without
optimization.
