Well, the problem is that LyX needs a so-called textclass file to know
what a .cls file contains. This is what you can find in the layouts/
subdirectory of LyX data directory. Writing a textclass is not very
difficult, but it requires a bit of work and somebody who has time to
do it.

Last week, I wrote a textclass for a cv class of my own. I will
release it soon to those who are interested (but it is very minimalist
now).
