Hi Folks,

I can't find the answer to the following via man pages or FAQs or luck
or hacking. My problem is getting postscript files to print on the
correct area of the page. When using LyX, if I print (directly
through LyX, not via gv) I get the text too low and too far right on
the page. If I view the file through the ps viewer gs the result is
correctly centred on the page and subsequently prints correctly as
well.

If (from LyX) I export the file to a ps version and print that the
result is in-correctly centred in the same fasion ie. low and to the
right.

I've used the utility "texconfig" to try to fix this and found my way
to the "configure ps" section. I tried to ensure that the paper
setting was a4, an error msg said something like "bad name, can't find
binary ed, please check you PATH". I printed a test file and it did
show that it was off centred to the right and down. I then tried to
use the offset facility to correct this and got the same message.

What is binary ed? Is this a file called "ed". If so I can't find
it. RPM checks show that tetex distros are verified.

Redhat 5.0
HP DeskJet 520
486, 16MB RAM.

I originally set up the printer using the redhat printer config utils
and don't seem to have any probs with other dvi or ps files, *seems*
to be limited to LyX.

Any help appreciated.

regards,

Shane.
