It seems that [EMAIL PROTECTED] does not work
any more. I must have missed the corresponding announcement, or there
wasn't one.
Anyway, here is the message that did not reach the archive...

Hmmm, I don't think so. I installed LyX without being root, but there was
a working LaTeX installation.
I don't know while LyX claims that LaTeX does not work. You could try the
following: export your text as LaTeX (I think it's file->export->as latex),
then run from the command line

latex filename

if this works, do

xdvi filename.dvi &

and see if the output is OK. If it is, you can convert to postscript

dvips filename > filename.ps

and either print it directly (e.g. lp filename.ps) or from ghostview:

ghostview filename.ps & (or gv filename.ps & if you have gv installed)

then file->print

if all this works you have

1) at least a printout of your document :)
2) still not resolved the question why LyX doesn't like your working LaTeX
installation - one of the developers certainly knows what to do then...

Hope this helps a little bit,

Matthias
