I have a copy which i compiled on Slackware 3.0 with no problems just the other week
(after
remembering to have the kernel source installed). The file i have is libXpm-4.7.tar.gz
and is
236375 bytes. Think i got it from a link on the lyx website. If it helps, i can send
it to you.
However, you might want to look into why the copy you have won't compile - what were
the error
messages [not that i can help here - but there are many others on this group who can
;-) ].
