All you have to do is to place the figure in a same float box next to 
each over. if the sum of the width is lower than expected for the page 
the figure will be place next to each over. If you place the figure under 
to each other, lyx don't try to place them on the same line. 
Moreover You must put the same label for all the figure but you can put 
a different title.
