I had exactly the same behaviour with Lyx 1.0.1. My system is
RedHat 5.2. I finally found rpm's of xforms and lyx made for RedHat.
So i uninstalled earlier rpm's taken from some Suse-distribution or
something and installed these new ones. For un/installation i used
glint. I haven't had any problems after that.
So better check that the packages are made for the linux-distribution you
have.

Subject: LyX Crash
Hello everybody,
I've just installed LyX 1.0.2
Everything is working fine, except that when I try to view the DVI or
PostScript I receive a message like
"/tmp/lyx_tmpxxxxxxxx/lyx_bufrtmpxxxxxx Success" and then it crashes
with a core dump.
The following message is displayed on my terminal:
sh: `-c' requires an argument
which give me the impression that the problem is not related to LyX
itself but with a shell command it tries to execute.
Any idea of what could cause this problem?
TIA
Chris
