I have read your archived lists. I have a copy of both
the output of configure and make as I made lyx on this
Debian Linux system. Because lyx can now both import and
export latex files (and import eps files), we need it as a
valuable tool.
The error message I received is bad window -- I have a typescript
file of a full debug flag switch set in the lyx invocation if
you want it. I have done a ldd, here is the output:

The old lyx I built (pre-latex-import) did run, but was of limited
use because I could not GUI edit existing latex files. The current
lyx fires up the window and the exits with a bad window message.
Suggestions? Does somebody have this pre-built for Debian?
