This seems a problem with the printer configuration..

Could you send me a simple file where this happens? I would like to
see both the linuxdoc file and the resulting latex file.

Which printer do you have? Have you used the printtool utility to
configure the printer?

Without further informations I would think that was nothing to do
with lyx or sgmltools.
