splitted formulas: \mbox command in lyx?

Hi,

I've got the following problem: I'm writing a scientific text with many
formulas. Now when I insert formulas into my text, sometimes they will
be splitted in half and displayed partly on one line and partly on the
line below.

How do I prevent lyx from breaking up formulas? With LaTeX, I could
simply enclose the formula with an \mbox{}, and everything was fine.
However, \mbox{} does not seem to work in lyx (not even in TeX-mode).

Does anyone know of a workaround?
