I looked around some more.
I tried "ltoh" (Latex to html) but it gives a huge number
of error messages -- it can't understand most of the
latex commands.
I tried "tth" (Tex to html) and it works very well.
I only scanned the user manual (of course I had to
use tth before reading the documentation :-) ).
I noticed something in the docs that you can tell it to
automatically substitute GIF images in place of EPS
images if a GIF of same filename exists in the same
directory -- or at least it seemed to be implying that.
Of course lots of formating is lost, but at least I can
give something to the publishing/editing people, along
with a printout of how I want it to look, and let them do
their thing with MS Word. I presume they can import html
and pour it into a style sheet.
I don't know about eps figures, other than the embedded
bit-map types. What will the editing guys think about
eps figures in MS Word? -- they won't show on-screen,
but should print ok.
Or, maybe I can convert them to something else ... WMF?
(oh no, not another conversion!) -- "pstoedit" I think
will do that?
tth is free for non-commercial use. The version you buy
(I don't know the price) has extra features.
