The file you are looking for is .lyx/lyxrc. If you want to make your
own, the best thing to do is to copy first
/usr/local/share/lyx/lyxrc.example (replace the beginning of the path
with the place where LyX is installed) to .lyx/lyxrc and edit this
one.
