I'm running out of disk space on the system disk (on an SGI O2) so I want to move /usr/freeware on the system disk to /disk02/usr/freeware (on a different hard drive). (For example, teTeX is in /usr/freeware at /usr/freeware/teTeX.) I copied all the files to /disk02/usr/freeware and renamed /usr/freeware to /usr/freeware2. Then I did "ln -s /disk02/usr/freeware /usr/freeware" to create a symbolic link so that it would seem like all the files were still at /usr/freeware. (I didn't move the files. I just wanted to make sure this would work first before removing all the files from /usr/freeware.) The link was successfully made and I could still run programs (for example, latex runs). When I ran lyx (versiion 1.0.0, not in /usr/freeware), it ran and I was able to open an existing file. However, when I tried to invoke the postscript preview, I received an error that lyx could not find tex.pro. I don't understand what is going wrong. Any ideas would be appreciated. -- Rick Bilonick - mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Statistical Consulting for Business & Industry http://www.nauticom.net/usrs/rab/
