I'm not sure whether the following situation on a RH 6.1 is relevant.
I tried to use LyX 1.1.3-1, installed with the RPMS from ftp.sylvan.com.
When I try to change language and write in greek, LyX crashes and dumps
core, whenever I press Shift+u to produce the capital greek letter
"theta", which corresponds to "u" on my keyboard.
This is what LyX produces when I run it with lyx -dbg 4

where the last letter in the first line (which you probably don't see if
you don't have greek fonts installed) of the above message is the one
I want.
This doesn't happen with small "theta" or any other letter, didn't
happen with my previous version of LyX (1.1.2-1), doesn't happen with
any other X application, and doesn't happen in LyX with any other
keyboard (eg French), when pressing the relevant letter on my keyboard.
By the way, LyX (both mentioned versions) does not behave well when
CapsLock is pressed. It does not produce greek capital letters, though
it has no problem with latin ones. What it reports is

This again happens only with LyX and no other X app. I'm using kikbd as
my keyboard switch program, under KDE.
