I am setting some equations that refer to the handling of some data that my readers will be familiar with, so I would like to use the actual variable names produced by a certain simulator. Some of the variable names have underscores embedded in them, e.g. dl1.miss_rate. However, when I try to enter them in display mode math, the _ is interpreted as a switch to subscript entry mode. Math mode text does not seem to work either. Is there a way to use the _ in equations without getting blank spaces around it? Thanks, Bobby Bryant Austin, Texas
