No patch have been made for these versions because one of the
following occured:
- there have been so many changes in the source that patches would be
huge (this happens since many white space changes take place, for
example).
- Lars has been lazy ;)

You should use -r too for diffs.
Concerning the particular problems you have with 1.1.3, you can take
the patch

which solves this and a few other minor issues.
