Lyx 1.1.2 on RedHat 5.2: bugs or what?

I try to use (on workplace) "stable" Lyx 1.1.2 on Linux (RedHat 5.2) but
I found many strange beahviour and crashes; my own LyX is 1.0.4 on RedHat 6.0
distribution of Linux (next month I'll update everything) and is
ABSOLUTELY stable: I use it from August (when it was released) and
NEVER had problems.

It's better to update RedHat 5.2 on my workplace or to get another LyX
version? Which are the problems with RedHat 5.2 ?
