Hi everyone,

In order to facilitate testing and debugging, I've started creating
a new set of LyX RPMs from the CVS.

In ftp://ftp.sylvan.com/pub/lyx/devel you will find:

The usual LyX RPM packages:

    lyx-1.1.5cvs-1.i386.rpm
    tetex-lyx-1.1.5cvs-1.i386.rpm
    lyx-1.1.5cvs-1.src.rpm

These contain the LyX optimized executable and all supporting files.

In addition, there is now:

    lyxgdb-1.1.5cvs-1.i386.rpm
    lyxgdb-1.1.5cvs-1.src.rpm

These contain *only* lyxgdb, a debugging version of the lyx executable.
This debugging executable depends on the already installed lyx package,
using all the same support files.

What this basically means:

1) As usual, you install lyx-1.1.5cvs and tetex-lyx-1.1.5cvs packages.
2) As you run lyx, you find a crashing bug.
3) Install the lyxgdb-1.1.5cvs package.
4) Repeat the the crash (running "lyxgdb" instead of "lyx")
5) Run gdb on lyxgdb and the resulting core.
6) Use the "where" command and send a very informative backtrace back
   to the lyx-devel list.

Enjoy!
