Hmmm... That's not the hyphenation problem I know of, then.
Can you set a manual hyphenation point? I'm not too familiar with the
whole hyphenation mechanism in TeX, but I do know that LyX does not really
do anything special with hyphenation. You can set hyphenation points
on individual words to tell TeX the recommended way to break up the word.
