when importing ascii text in lyx, one is bored by an excess of "protected
separators.
impossible (or I don't know how) to key in these in the search and replace
windows.
So I cut them out with a simple editor (ie kedit), but this gives usually
many orphan \layout_standard and lyx don't like this.
Also in lyx, often, the spaces seems to be still there and lyx crashes
when one try to trim them (V1.1.4patch 3). I can't really complain, having
badly edited the source.
But I notice that if starting from the end of the texte to the beginning
with the cursor moved by the left arrow, things are automatically fixed as
the cursor passes through. suffices to "scotch" (adhesive tape) the key,
for it can be very long in e 160 pages long text. Good result!
I experiment with emacs and will keep you informed I advisable.
