DocBook: configure does not find it

Dear All,

I�m in the stage of compiling lyx. Some questions:

o  On my PC with SuSE  6.3 i�ve installed DocBook.
    But when i am running the configure utility it is not able to find
    the installed docbook files.
    How can i tell configure where my DocBook is installed ?

o  For installing the patches: Which option do i have to add to the patch
    utility ?
