Problem cant find XpmCreateDataFromImage

Hi,

        I have a problem installing lyx. When I try to run lyx it gives me the message:

20093:./lyx: /sbin/loader: Error: Unresolved symbol in ./lyx: XpmCreateDataFromImage
20093:./lyx: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error: this executable has unresolvable symbols

        This is after the configuration worked find and did not report any 
libraries missing. I am installing on a dec-alpha.
