algorithm float

Hallo,

I would like to include an algorithm as float in a paper.
It should look like:
  if(ddd)
     do blabla
     do more blabla
  else
     do other things
     ...   

I have seen that there is an algorithm float.
The manual however does not say much about it, only that one needs
the package "algorithm".
How can I use this feature?
