It shouldn't segfault, but the problem is probaply due to the traditional
temporary change of the LyXBanner after Developers Meetings (secret pharse
of this years meeting is "cucumber"!), you can disable the banner from a
lyxrc variable (look at $LYXDIR/lyxrc.example if you don't know how)!
