Running "find / -name strings.h -print" resulted in:

/usr/include/strings.h
/usr/ibmcxx/include/strings.h
/usr/vacpp/include/strings.h

All these files (to my knowledge) are part of the original AIX
distribution, since gcc (which I used for compiling) resides in my
private directory. In the gcc-includes I only found a file named
"string.h".

Sorry that I'm not able to provide more specific information, and for
the trouble with us RS6000 users. However, thank you for your help and
that wonderful tool! By the way: Anyone intersted in a (as I was told)
working binary distribution (fixed libraries) of lyx-1.1.5 for
RS6000/AIX-4.3.3.0?

                                                Dirk
