I have spent some time to write a new section about an easy (hopefully 8))
installation of LyX on Win32. BTW there is a distribution file available (13
MB) which includes LyX as well as all Cygwin files as well as Perl 5.6 (w/o
documentation), ispell 3.2 (german and english hash files) and Ghostscript
4.03 (cygwin version only for inline viewing of images).

The description will show a potential user step by step what (and how) to
install to let LyX splash up on Win32. The description takes into account
all necessary steps including installation of an X-server, MikTeX etc.!

If interested have a look at

    http://www.fh-hannover.de/mbau/tim/hentschel/lyx/index.htm

I hope this will help many interested users in installing LyX on Win32 and
maybe switch from M$-Word to this outstanding typesetting system!

Yes, those instructions are quite well done! It will save hundreds of
users, several hours of hunting and studying. Also FrameMaker users
are dissatisfied with Adobe and are looking for an alternative method
for writing large manuals. I hope LyX is developed with this capability.
Your efforts have certainly supported acquiring a larger user base.

Thank you,
Stephen
