Hi,

I've been fighting with Lyx 1.1.5 for the last 2 days now, and I just
can't get it to configure properly. I'm running IRIX64 v6.5 on an Octane.
The errors I get with a bare config are:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
running ./configure
------------------------------------------------------------------------

**** The following problems have been detected by configure.
**** Please check the messages below before running 'make'.
**** (see the section 'Problems' in the INSTALL file)

** Cannot find libXpm. Please check that the Xpm library
is correctly installed on your system.

** Cannot find libforms or libxforms. Please check that the xforms library
is correctly installed on your system.

** Cannot find forms.h. Please check that the forms library
is correctly installed on your system.

== Version 4.6 (aka 3.4f) of the Xpm library is a bit old.
If you experience strange crashes with LyX, try to upgrade
to at least version 4.7 (aka 3.4g).
If you have installed a newer version of the library, check whether you
have an old xpm.h header file in your include path.

deleting cache ./config.cache

And then when I add in the path to the above libraries, I get the
following error. Including is a listing of the directories in the path,
to show that the files _really_ are there. 8)

deleting cache ./config.cache

As you can see, the '...forms.h' error goes away, as does the
'incorrect version of Xpm' error, but for some reason the libraries still
aren't found. I've tried moving the files to a different directory,
tried using the '--with-extra-lib' & '--with-extra-inc' options, I've
tried hacking on the configure script, all with no success. Am I an
idiot? Is there something blatant that I'm missing/not doing? I
appreciate any help you have to offer.

                                                Thanks,

                                                Peter
