Hi,
I am sorry for off-topic, but I would like to ask you a question
concerning the customization of my X keyboard. All what is
concerned is my [Delete] key (I have standard PC komaptible
machine, so I have both [Delete] as well as [Backspace] key). I
HAVE NOT what sems to me to be typical problem -- switched
[Delete] and [Backspace] keys. There are no problems with my
[Backspace] key.
However, although [Delete] key works fine in my KDE applications
as well as in main editor window of LyX, it does work as a
[Backspace] key in all dialog-boxes of LyX as well as in x*
applications (xedit, xterm and I have to have
(global-set-key [delete] 'delete-char) in my EMACS' default.el
file). BTW, Ctrl-D works as [Delete] key should work in such
cases.
I read manpages for both xmodmap and xkeycaps, tried to use
them, but I am not able to identify a problem.
Although xmodmap -v -pke says that
keycode 22 = BackSpace
keycode 107 = Delete
(and 22 and 107 are, according to xkeycaps, correct keycodes for
my [Backspace] and [Delete] keys respectively), it does not work
as it should.
What's wrong? and What I am to do?
Thanks for a help
Matej
