Pasting into a table.

Hi,

I have been trying to figure out how I can paste a set of text into a
table within Lyx.

For example, if I have a set of numbers:
        1 2 3
        4 5 6

I would like to be able to highlight this (let's say in a text file) and
then paste it into a table that is 2 rows by 3 columns.  It does not seem
to work though.  I have tried putting tabs between the numbers but that
does not work either.

Any ideas?
