I was having trouble converting EPS images into usable versions for PDF output
- images (which were originally bitmapped, then converted to EPS before
including in Lyx) would look very fuzzy when exported/viewed in PDF.
The solution (using Ghostscript 6.50) is to alter the PS->PDF convertor to use
-dPDFSETTINGS=/prepress. IE in the new preferences dialogue go to the
convertors section and change the PS->PDF convertor from
ps2pdf $$i
to
ps2pdf -dPDFSETTINGS=/prepress $$i
