I'm using IceWM, not KDE/Gnome and have similar problem. I don't think
this problem has anything to do with window manager. This is a problem
with LyX 1.1.6.
Maybe you have to change the key bindings (I don't know how, I've never
done it). Or enter the desired command manually in the bottom line of LyX
window, look up the command from LyX reference manual.
