Umm, you might need completely another (better) C++ compiler for the
Alpha.
If you are not administrator for this system, it might be better to start
looking for precompiled LyX binaries (maybe even statically compiled
versions).
Unfortunately I cant find a link from LyX pages to precompiled version of
your system. Maybe someone else can give a link?

Well, try removing the older Xforms version so that LyX doesn't find that?
Or try different options to configure script.
If you're desperate, mail me, I can try building a Sparc version.
