Hello,
I have just installed LyX 1.1.6 (and fix1) on my system running FreeBSD 4.2,
and it fails to show included EPS figures. The message "rendering..."
appears in the box, but nothing happens. I tested both old documents
made with previous LyX versions, and new documents. I wiped out ~/.lyx
to no avail.
Using -dbg 32 I get:
Create pixmap disp:0x83c6000 scr:0 w:235 h:131 depth:24
GS [40817] started
Update: [235x131]
Will set GHOSTVIEW property to [0 0 0 0 235 131 72 72 0 0 0 0]
Grabbing the server
Releasing the server
starting gs /tmp/lyx_tmpdir40816j40816/~lyxgs40817.ps /home/jose/fig.eps, pid: 40817
ClientMessage, win:[xx] gs:[37748738] pm:[31457430]
And I found this process running while LyX was "rendering..." an EPS:
gs -sDEVICE=x11 -dNOPAUSE -dQUIET -dSAFER -r72x72 -g235x131
/tmp/lyx_tmpdir40816j40816/~lyxgs40817.ps /home/jose/fig.eps showpage.ps quit.ps -
This process is not using CPU. If I kill it, then a "render error" message
appears in the figure box.
I typed the same command line (except the -dNOPAUSE option) and the figure
was correctly shown on its own window.
Of course, xdvi shows the EPS figures. I am using GhostScript 6.50.
Surely I am doing something wrong... or not?
Cheers,
