pdf2ps should come with ghostscript (it is a simple script that calls
gs). Also xpdf comes with pdftops program (but I guess it doesn't like
bitmap donts either). And then there's also, of course, Acrobat Reader
that allows (usually) printing to postscript file.
Try
locate pdf2ps
locate pdftops
You should not use pdf2ps if possible, since I remember it having very
poor output quality (like ps2ps).
