Today I was using lyx, having much fun preparing a lecture on multiple
regression. In case you want to see, I've put the lyx file and the 2
eps files on my page at this site:
http://lark.cc.ukans.edu/~pauljohn/ps707/multReg1/
The file is multRegNotes1.lyx and there are 2 (beautiful!) 3d eps
pictures. There is a pdf version, if you just want to see what I'm up
to. These eps files frustrate lyx a bit, the preview is not quite
accurate, but it prints OK. If you have advice on file preparation, I'm
glad to hear it.
Now here is the question:
I ran into this problem when editing equations. I had to insert plenty
of "hats" and brackets around matrices. I could not find a way to remove
the hat or the brackets without erasing the whole hatted-or-bracketed
term out of the equation. Is it supposed to be that way?
Also, I could not see a way to add a single row into a matrix. One must
create a whole new matrix and copy elements over?
I can print this file, and can get pdf (from Export/pdf) but can't get
any good html out of it. Can You?? In my latex2html output, I want to
see an x with a hat on it, but in the html output it has a word
"bigxhat-x" or silly looking junk like that.
Oh, one other thing. TO get a new page (leave a blank where I could
insert some printout from a stats program), I had to revert to ERT. At
one time, I could have sworn Lyx offered "insert new page" or some such.
Not true?
