lyx & RH 7.0

I upgraded to RH 7.0 and now there are some problems displaying equations:

1) A couple of menus on the math panel are blank and the symbols they 
contain don't show up in lyx, but do show up in the dvi.

2) Same thing happens with superscripts, but not subscripts.

I'm pretty sure this is not a lyx problem, but bewildered beyond that, 
any suggestions would be appreciated.
