Hi Bruce, This could be a bug. But without a minimal example and steps to show us exactly what you're doing we won't know. If you have the time to do that and think this is a bug, please report it here: http://www.lyx.org/trac (note that we need it in our bug tracking system and not just on emails because otherwise it will likely get lost).
