I have used the following not quite proper way to circumvent my problem
I added In Björn, L. O. (ed), to the title
->
In Björn, L. O. (ed), Photobiology - The Science of Light and Life
since it seems to be a matter of the style file .bst which is in my case
spbasic3,
a modified spbasic of Springer publisher. I could have fiddled around
with it, but the result serves my needs.

I have probably chosen

wrongly or added the editor at the wrong place.
How is it correctly done, if the editor should be included in the
reference?
