Oh, it is most probably the problem: Many programs removed code that was necessary for Win XP. The reason is to minimize the development work. I did this too for LyX's Windows installer - Windows XP is not supported anymore.
Sorry. However, a copy of Windows 7 is not very expensive. regards Uwe
