It is an installer issue. The LyX installer does not call the official MSVC redistributables installer, but includes the MSVC dlls instead. This might work on some machines and might not work on some others (the official installer does more than just copying dlls to some place).
Why don't you provide a win installer if you always know what I am doing wrong?
