Dear Bosco, One quick thing you could try to see if it helps is the following: 1. Open LyX and go to Help > About and copy the location of your user directory. 2. Exit LyX. 3. Move the user directory to e.g. your desktop (I recommend this rather than deleting it so that you can always go backwards). 4. Start LyX (this will force a reconfigure so will take some time).
