I draw pictures with xfig and export them as eps files. To use them with pdflatex, i convert them to pdf with epstopdf. The resulting pdf file, however, has problems whenever i have used a patterned fill in xfig. - The pattern doesn't appear at all with xpdf - The pattern appears in acroread, but if I try printing from it (or saving as postscript), it again disappears. I'm pretty sure somebody else had problems too with xfig, and I think the solution was to use solid fill instead of patterns. However I can't find anything from lyx archives. Any better workaround than solid fill? By the way, xfig has 22 different patterns and couple of them actually works.. but most don't. (examples for request)
